My Lord,
Thank you for a quiet weekend.
Although it was the 4th of July for many Americans, it was a blissful quiet weekend for me.
My freedom comes from Your sacrifice at the CROSS!
I celebrate Your presence in my life day after day and I long to see you face to face.
<>< Psalm 36:7 "How precious is your loving kindness, God! The children of men take refuge under the shadow of your wings." (WEB)
I have been carrying a heavy heart with so much violence in the world. Along with so much diversity within my family and so, so many prayers that need answering. And although all of these things have consumed me, I still find comfort in reading your word.
<>< James 4:8 "Come near to God and he will come near to you." (NIV)
Thank you that I have not given in to the "world's way of thinking" and feelings of hopelessness. I thank you that I still find comfort and solace in your holy scriptures. Over the past month or two, I took a journey through Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians and Colossians and it was such a delight for me and brought so much confirmation of who YOU are and who I am in YOU!
<>< Ephesians 2:6 "For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus." (NLT)
I just finished 1 and 2 Corinthians and am now studying Romans with Catherine. I'm just in chapter 4 and so much in there concerning Your promises and my responsibility as a Christian. I long to obey You and to shine for you. I long to let others see Your Light by my choices and the faith that I claim as a believer of the One True God.
I'm not always faithful, but Your loving kindness never fails to woo me back into your arms and to remind me that I cannot do life on my own and that my prayers will be hindered if I choose to sin and not repent, seeking immediate forgiveness.
<>< Ephesians 2:7 "So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus." (NLT)
I love knowing that I am incapable of being perfect and that it's natural to make mistakes and even to go before You without wise counsel or approval. And when I do, YOU don't hold it against me. You lead me back into your presence and allow me to reflect on where I went wrong and how with You, I can be restored back to righteousness (right living).
My heart my fail, but I have no desire to live apart from YOU and I don't want to go it alone. There is nothing I want more than a relationship with You and there is nothing I want more than to know that I'm in the center of your will.
<>< Psalm 73:26-27 "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." (NIV)
Please Father, please don't allow me to have my way and please do not allow me to covet anything that is not pleasing to you. #PLEASE!!
I have been anticipating something big from you and I will not mess it up or block my blessings because of any impatience or disobedience.
<>< Psalm 76:27 "Those who are far from you will perish; you destroy all who are unfaithful to you. But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds." (NIV)
I want your best for me as I know that YOU are a good God and You only want the best for your beloved children. I know that you have set aside blessings for me before the foundation of the earth was put into existence and I have yet to unwrap half of them.
<>< Ephesians 3:18-19 "And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God." (NLT)
