My Lord,
Rachel posted this video on her facebook page the other night about being single. It was a man telling my story. Everything that he said about being single is true. However, the way he said this phrase, melted my heart. He said that our single season is supposed to "secure an undistracted devotion to the Lord."
I absoultely love that.
I am so there. Father, in the beginning, I did not understand your ways and your reason for wanting to keep me to yourself. I didn't understand why I could not have both; a "boyfriend" and a God. Lol
Just being honest with You. :-)
But You changed my heart and my desires. I remember crying out to you and asking you to help me to be single. My Lord, You answered that prayer in a ginormous way. You courted me and you wooed yourself right into my life and right into my heart. I started changing not only my habits, but the tv shows that I watched, the music I listened to and the thoughts that I toyed with in the back of my mind.
The Holy Spirit held me accountable in those moments when I began to have longings and wanted to question your reasons for having me wait.
I love you my Lord and I want your best for me. I love that video clip!! I thank you for this single season and I want to stay here as long as you want me to. I don't want to move ahead without you and I do not want anything that YOU have not specifically chosen for me.
I want more than anything else in this world to "secure an undistracted devotion to YOU!" If there is anything preventing me from doing that Father, please remove it from my life.
My desire belongs to YOU and I want to continue cultivating this fire that you have placed within my heart!
I trust You and I trust Your will. Your very hands created me and therefore, I did not create myself to be a "hopeless romantic" You did that God!!!
So that alone tells me that you are preparing a godly man for me and one day....in Your perfect timing, we will unite and our union will give you ALL THE GLORY!
When that time comes, I WILL NOT FORGET MY COVENANT WITH YOU! YOU ARE MY FIRST LOVE and My Forever Love! Forever and Ever! <3
