My Lord,
I've chosen (2) words to help me live out my faith this coming year! You have affirmed me as today's bible verse is one of my chosen words and verses. My words are "Shine & Listen" and the verses below coincide with my longing to glorify your name.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16 NIV)
The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” Then Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.” (1 Samuel 3:10 NIV)
And my Father in heaven, here is my heartfelt prayer to you.
Help me to be bold, to be quiet, to be gentle, to be on fire for you. Help me to love deeper, to forgive quicker, and to remain faithful. Help me to listen attentively, to react compassionately, and to refrain appropriately.
Lord, my desire is to please you. To die to self and to lay prostrate to your will. To humbly submit to you and not to resist. To obey with joy and not with resentment.
I need your Holy Spirit to continue guiding me, directing me, nudging me, and encouraging me.
I need your presence to light my path, to shine in the workplace, and to draw strangers and the lost to you through me. I need you to continue your work in me as your word has promised.
Jesus, please remind me that I am fully equipped. I am protected. I am courageous. I am fearless. I am yours and I am chosen. I did not choose you but Father, you chose me.
And Father, please remind me that I am weak. I am vulnerable. I am passive. I am insecure and I am fragile without you. Without you, I am nothing. In Jesus' precious name, this is my heartfelt prayer, amen.
