My Lord,
My heart is so heavy. I cannot put into words what you've done to penetrate my heart and my ears. I hear and see you so clearly. I know your passion for marriage. I know the devil's plans to destroy it and so many are in serious trouble. There are many Christians who simply don't know what else to do and feel hopeless.
I heard a woman yesterday on the radio whose heart was so very heavy about her husband's porn addiction. There was another show last week about a man who came to realize that after 27 years of marriage, he hadn't been the best husband that he could have been, but it was too late. His wife has had enough and wants to leave him.
I have heard numerous Pastors and guest speakers on Focus on The Family and New Life Live (Christian Radio) who offer advice and godly wisdom on how to "make it work." Father, if we are wounded....I mean deeply wounded and have not sought the help we needed prior to commiting those sacred vowels, the wounds are still there. And Lord, you and I know that after the "honeymoon phase" those wounds begin to resurface. Not only that, if we were never taught, never saw a positive role model and just have no clue on what a healthy marriage looks like, then we are often operating from a place of selfishness.
I for one had no "healthy images" to compare one to and therefore, I took my wounds, buried them deep within my heart and became a wife anyway. I was soooooooooooooooooooooo in love and had noooooooooooooooooooo clue on what a godly marriage was. As a matter of fact, there were none in my circle of friendships and really none outside of it.
It wasn't until I became a Christian that I began to see what is should "resemble." I love that my church family knows you and your heart. Yes, many believers are having difficulty in their marriages, but the ones who are grounded in their faith and in your word, please continue to use them to strengthen the body of Christ and display your glory for all to see. Father, please cover the troubled marriages with your grace, favor and protection. Remove any anger, resentment, hostility, control issues, abuse, addictions and pride that is keeping the relationshp from thriving. Please bring into the light the "dark and hidden" things that are preventing a breakthrough and preventing your truth to take root.
Lord, please minister to the hearts and the brokeness as only you can. Please love on your beloved sons and daugthers and give them their hope back! THE ENEMY Ain't got nothing on YOU!
