My Lord,
Yesterday I couldn't wait to do my homework. I got all of my materials and sat in the middle of my ginormous bed. As I paused to look out at the bay...oh what tears...I simply love living here. I love you for gifting me with such a magnificent view 365 days a year. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh
And then, I began to read. And...oh what tears. It was so heavy, I had to pause.
Revelation 9:1-6
Then the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star from heaven which had fallen to the earth; and the key of the bottomless pit was given to him. 2He opened the bottomless pit, and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke of the pit. 3Then out of the smoke came locusts upon the earth, and power was given them, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 4They were told not to hurt the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree, but only the men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. 5And they were not permitted to kill anyone, but to torment for five months; and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings a man. 6And in those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will long to die, and death flees from them.
I walked around the house looking for stuff to tidy up and then went back to the books. And again...more tears...
Revelation 9:13-21
Then the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14one saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” 15And the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released, so that they would kill a third of mankind. 16The number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them. 17And this is how I saw in the vision the horses and those who sat on them: the riders had breastplates the color of fire and of hyacinth and of brimstone; and the heads of the horses are like the heads of lions; and out of their mouths proceed fire and smoke and brimstone. 18A third of mankind was killed by these three plagues, by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which proceeded out of their mouths. 19For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails are like serpents and have heads, and with them they do harm.
20The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, so as not to worship demons, and the idols of gold and of silver and of brass and of stone and of wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk; 21and they did not repent of their murders nor of their sorceries nor of their immorality nor of their thefts.
Father, I don't want to be rebellious. I want you to hold me accountable and I want you to hold my children and my children's children accountable. I don't want to worship false idols or indulge in sexual immorality. I don't want anything in my life that is NOT pleasing to you. I don't want to ruin my testimony by having my way verses your will. I love you more than I could every say, write or express with my mouth! I pray that you would continually search my heart and know that I deeply love you! I want to spend #all of my days being obedient to you and proclaiming your Good News and your awesome truth!
Father, as much as I #long to see your face, I pray with all of my heart that you would not come until more souls are saved. I know that it is so sad to say that many will not repent and many will continue in the misguided beliefs that there is no god and that you are not the Lord Jesus, but there are some who are like the (old self) I used to be...I had no knowledge of your Son Jesus and what He had done for my sinful life. I had a #feeling that there was a god, although my family did not discuss it nor did we attend church, but something in me knew that there was #someone in heaven...(sad, but true). However, it was not until I was 42 that I learned that JESUS was the one who died for #ME! That Jesus went to the cross willing to pay for all of my sins-past, present and future...and that Jesus is the only one who could have done such a thing! And, that Jesus is the only one who promises eternal life after this life here on earth comes to an end. And that Jesus is coming back for those that he loves and that includes me. Yes, he will take me to my real home! Oh what tears!!!!!!!
