My Lord,

I was going to talk about Psalm 23 today, but on the way to work, the message was about Joshua. Whenever I hear his name, it reminds me of You and your promise to me when I lived in Waldorf.  I know You make the same promises to all your children and that You hold no favorites, but I like to think that You and I have something special :-)

Joshua 1:8-10 (I'm going to try to type it from memory...
"Keep this book of the law always on your lips.  Meditate on it day and night so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.  Then you will be prosperous and successful.  Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

I hold this promise close to my heart.  You have led me in the path of righteousness and I simply cannot keep quiet about it.  Please Lord, continue to direct my steps and my words in a way that is pleasing to your sight.

My Lord, when, not if, but when I get distracted, please lead me back to You.  I haven't a clue where I'm headed without You. I have to be honest and admit that as long as I'm in the flesh, the tendency to move outside your will often lingers in the old parts of my mind.

Please my Lord, keep me as the apple of your eye and hide me in the shadows of your wings!

Eternally yours
